The wrong person is on the tree – how do I swap them?

Open their card, press Remove / Fix this person and choose the option saying they're the wrong person and it should be someone else. Barking up the wrong branch? It happens in the best family trees! For example, say your great-uncle is on your tree but it should really be a different man with the same name. You then pick the right one: someone already on the tree, someone new, or "Not sure yet – keep a space", which leaves an empty "Not sure yet" card holding his place until you know. We then go through his family one by one, so nothing moves without you saying so, and you see a before-and-after picture before anything is saved.

Where to find it

  • Person page → Edit (Safe edit on) → This person box → Remove / Fix this person

Only people with the "Add people" and "Remove" ticks, with Safe edit on.

On a phone: if the card's buttons are tucked away, press ☰ Menu first.
