Under their Children, press What are you trying to fix?, then Something else…, and choose "It's complicated – they're connected, but no line should show". Some family stories are told quietly – your call. They stay connected on the record, but no line is drawn between them on the tree.

Person page (Safe edit on) → under Parents, Partners or Children → What are you trying to fix?
Only people with the "Add people" and "Remove" ticks, with Safe edit on.
